In Thailand, it’s all about whisky. Everywhere you turn people are talking about and drinking whisky–Mekhong, Sang Som, Johnnie Walker black, red, and every once in a while blue. Single malts, single casks, Scotch, blended, and Bourbon whiskies. In Thailand, if you’re not drinking whisky,
you’re not at the right bar.
The Sazerac is how we pay tribute to and continue Thailand’s whisky culture.
The Sazerac, crafted in 1838 by Antoine Peychaud Jr., was the first widely poured cocktail and originally was made using brandy. The recipe has since been altered and American Rye whiskey was substituted for brandy, but the idea of bitters and a strong spirit still shine bright.
